Course Format Course Length: 8 Weeks Meeting Time: 90 Minutes Weekly (plus optional Bible Boost 20min) Location: ROOT Hub Campus (at Root & Co Refined Cabinetry Office) Day: Thursdays Time: 9:00–10:30 pm Session Length: 8 Weeks Recommended Ages: 13–18 PURPOSE > POPULARITY Discover Your Design. Develop Your Gifts. Launch Your Life. What if teens were challenged to think beyond “What do I want to be when I grow up?” and instead ask, “What has God placed in me, who can I serve, and what can I begin doing with it now?” Purpose > Popularity takes the Kickstart: Launch Your Life curriculum and brings its nearly 30 sessions together into one focused, hands-on 8-week intensive. Students will work through the Kickstart videos and workbook in their original progression while Root Hub provides the part a book alone cannot: community, accountability, conversation, mentorship, practice, and real-world application. Throughout the eight weeks, students will build a personal Launch Portfolio around eight important questions: Week 1 — Who am I becoming? Character, responsibility, and the kind of person they want to become. Week 2 — What has God put in me? Strengths, gifts, interests, calling, and vocation. Week 3 — Where am I going? Vision, goal setting, time management, and turning ideas into action. Week 4 — Who can teach me? Networking, mentorship, relationships, and learning from those ahead of us. Week 5 — Can I communicate and receive correction? First impressions, asking great questions, interviewing, feedback, and communication. Week 6 — Where can I get real experience? Job shadowing, opportunities, initiative, work experience, and learning by doing. Week 7 — What value can I create? Problem solving, entrepreneurship, excellence, serving others, and recognizing opportunities. Week 8 — What am I going to do next? Leadership, action, and developing a practical 90-day launch plan. Students won't leave with just another completed workbook. By the end of the course, each student will be working toward a personal vision statement, identified strengths and gifts, measurable goals, a working schedule, mentor connections, stronger communication skills, real-world experience, an idea for creating value, and a 90-day action plan. Popularity asks, “Who notices me?” Purpose asks, “Who can I serve with what God has put in me?” This class is about helping teens stop waiting for someday and begin faithfully developing what God has placed in their hands right now.
