Course Format Course Length: 8 Weeks Meeting Time: 90 Minutes Weekly Location: ROOT Hub Campus — In Person Recommended Ages: 13–18 Day: Thursdays Time: 10:00–11:30 AM Session Length: 8 Weeks Course Description Teen Personal Finance is a Christ-centered elective designed to equip students with practical money skills, biblical wisdom, and real-life financial habits they can use now and for the rest of their lives. Using the Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum, students will learn how to manage money with confidence, avoid debt, build a budget, save with purpose, practice generosity, understand work and stewardship, and prepare for future financial decisions. This course takes personal finance beyond formulas and theories by connecting money management to character, responsibility, diligence, and biblical stewardship. Through engaging video lessons, instructor-led teaching, round-table discussion, workbook activities, devotionals, and practical assignments, students will discover that money is not meant to rule their lives. Instead, they will learn how to manage it wisely, honor God with it, and build a strong foundation for adulthood. This course is designed for homeschool teens and is taught in a way that is practical, engaging, and easy to understand. Students do not need any previous financial knowledge to participate. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, students will be able to: Understand the biblical foundation for stewardship and wise money management. Create and use a basic personal budget. Recognize the dangers of debt and the value of living within their means. Develop healthy saving habits and financial goals. Understand the importance of work, diligence, and responsibility. Practice generosity and giving from a biblical perspective. Learn basic principles of banking, spending, saving, and planning. Gain confidence in making wise financial decisions for the future. Connect personal finance with character, integrity, and long-term success.
